‘Offline’ Play

Why do we need a connection to the EA servers for offline play? And if we have to be online to play ‘offline’, why is progress towards objectives not updated as the occurrences happen? It’s like EA has chosen to give players the worst of both worlds… 

I could understand connecting to the server post-game to update things (although ideally it’d be less often).  I’d be more forgiving if objectives were updated in real-time, regardless of lost connections. 

As it is, you seem to be going out of your way to punish people. I shouldn’t be 1. Connected during an ‘offline’ game, and 2. Taking an L if (when) the connection drops.
