Players will not skate forward

Recently I have an issue where the players will not skate forward they just glide. In a shootout they will not move at all. I tried everything from recalibration, updates and it didn't help. I have two controllers and this issue is with both controllers. My system is a little over a year old. I been losing a lot of game due to this issue. Can someone give me a suggestion on how to fix this problem. Thanks.

After doing more research I kept reading that the issue was probably the controller itself. I didn't believe that because my system is fairly new and I don't abuse my equipment. I ordered two new controllers and paired them to my console. When I started to play a game it worked fine problem solved.
