WOC my character ALWAYs doing over dramatic movements

Gm EA community. My issue when playing WOC. My defensive character is doing movements that I feel are unfair n taking me outta the play ALL  the time. N it's frustrating. Going from offense to defending. My character never does a simple turn. He's gotta do a hard stop swing his arms n stick wildly. But by then the opponent is gone. I see it the play that's gonna happen, try adjust n be in the right spot. But my animations are so unreal n unfair. N it's game after game after game.  Last night I was defending and outta the blue my character did its own thing for a split second. Stopping side to side . Idk if you can track my gameplay to see. Idk why my character is this way

Hey there. It sounds like you're doing panic turns. This happens when you suddenly reverse direction. What I do to minimize this is try to position my player so they are more naturally turning instead of reversing direction. Sort of always keeping them in motion while anticipating a breakout so you don't have to suddenly go the other way. I'm always trying to anticipate a turnover and be ready if it happens. I do this by watching the play around the puck and keeping my player in a position where I can pivot and skate forward to build a bigger gap. This way, I can hit backskate and face the carrier. As a defender, I should always be the last man back so I keep that in mind while also knowing that speedy forwards can easily blow by me if I don't have a good gap between us. Which is why I build that gap by skating forward back into my own zone and then backskating to face the play.

It also greatly helps to use the Zone or Overhead cameras so you get a full view of the ice. You can switch to a "hybrid" view where the puck and your player are kept on screen. Hold down the 'View' button on Xbox or the touch pad on PS5.

Feel free to grab a couple clips as examples so we can analyze the play and give some advice. Thanks!
