Thank you for your reply. I didn't say i was unable to score. What i'm saying is the game has been programmed in such a way that it rewards people who choose to not play straight up. To me, and again this is just my observation and opinion, it started when the devs started to get annoyed by players beating the rookie Squad Battle games 100-0. i get it. it was too easy. Players would abuse it to get objectives done faster than the game maker wanted. So it's been a constant effort to make the AI play better. That comes with unintended consequences. Last year the green one timer was very strong. Some say too strong. So, to counter that, they decide to park themselves in front of the net and block any such shot attempts from getting thru, OR they made an effort to stop the pass from happening in the first place. That gave them success, last year. Fast forward to now. It is now the main defensive strategy for too many players. They're willing to "not play" the game in an effort to win the game (at all costs). This type of defensive play should only be used if your opponent runs around the outside and has zero intention to actually play hockey, aka glass lickers. Even Ben Ross, himself, stated in an interview that that is not proper play. I do not struggle to score versus these players, that is not the issue. What is the issue is the mentality of the player willing to "not play" the game just to get a win. Don't worry, most of these players are terrible at it, while others perfect it. This isn't about success or not, it's about enjoying the game. Playing a person who only plays half the ice isn't very fun. Has the idea that this type of play isn't encouraged by EA changed?
