How about not only re-integrating the GM phone features of NHL 09 - where all the records, goals, and cell phone stuff was — but the GM office where you upgrade staff and even your office decor.
It's simple, hilarious and fun stuff.

-Player progress reports for morale, ratings, etc
-Office rewards: wallpaper, photos, desk,
This could all be updated today - i would love to decorate my stupid office and have in-person meetings with the players like Madden and EA FC have.
It could also be where you sign players.
