Franchise mode RFAs and rookie UFAs

Product: NHL 21
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? After I don't know, maybe 6 to 8 years, when the maximum contract for rookies jump to 1 million.
What happens when the bug occurs? Every RFA that need a new contract, whatever their overalls are (it could be 75, 70 or even 65) ask for one way contract for 1.2 millions. Even UFA rookies on the free agent market have the same demand. One way contract of 1.2 millions
What do you expect to see? Like past seasons, I expect to have guys asking for 2 way contracts.
Was the issue in online or offline mode? Offline

  • @Mr_VoM Wow, that’s pretty ridiculous. Did they not play test this?
You shouldn’t have to sign everyone to 1 way contracts... everyone will be on waivers every single time you get an injury and need to call someone up.

Yep, so I lose all my good prospects...

I found kinda cool the addition of the record book. It give a reason to wanna do a long franchise mode but with that problem, it's game breaking to say the least.

Although this is kind of strange, 2-way contracts do not automatically make your players waiver exempt. Waivers is based on age/GP and changes depending on what age the player was when they signed their first contract. I can't remember exact numbers as it gets a bit complicated based on signing age, but it's a certain amount of games or age 25, whichever comes first. This game doesn't actually use real waiver rules or IR, so it is kind of tough to move players up and down during the season. (this needs to be changed). In reality waivers should happen in preseason as well, but it doesn't in the game because you can still only have a max. number of players on the team during preseason. (needs to be changed as well).

Pretty much everybody not on an ELC will have to pass through waivers in the game it seems and there is actually no reason for 2-way contracts to be in the game as there is no AHL salary or AHL only deals.

  • @Beauts90 I think he’s saying that there is also UFA rookies ie rookies that didn’t sign their ELC yet. So instead of asking for the proper 3yr @ 1.2m, they’re asking for a 1yr 1way contract, which they shouldn’t be

@SkylerJames13I think we can both agree it is so hard this year to determine what is a bug and what isn't as there have been so many. Especially when it comes to waivers/contracts as they don't apply all the real life rules in the game. It's hard to answer this one....

I know if a player is 24 when they sign their ELC, it only has to be for one year, if they are 22 it only has to be 2. Anyone 25+ does not have to sign an ELC even if it is their first contract.

I just thought the bigger issue was they wouldn't sign a 2-way contract and signing a 1 way deal would make them have to pass through waivers, when really 2-way contracts are meaningless in this game and they would have to go through waivers regardless.
