Input lag?

I don't know if it matters but my Xbox One is a year one original. I don't remember exactly when I got it but it was pretty close to the launch.

Do you play on a wired or wireless connection? It sounds like you might not be lagging, but just losing control of your player. Do you feel any lag? Do they go into a glide and then control returns after a bit? If you have some video, that would help as well.

I play on wired, Comcast 150mbps connection. I am a network engineer so I can spot network problems pretty easily. It's not network lag. Network lag would be characterized as losing control of your character and then the the game will look as if it is catching up. I have experienced network lag in this series before during brief lag spikes or outages. In those cases I can clearly identify the problem by going to the network performance graph in the game and see the red > yellow spikes.

In this case I will lose control briefly but the network graphs are all stable. This is more synonymous with input lag. Input lag is where you press a direction or button on your controller and it takes a bit before the game responds. Yes, the player will glide and returns after a bit. As I stated, maybe 5 seconds. I can try capturing an event on my Xbox and link it.

I've played 4 games this evening and I have not been able to reproduce the problem. I'll post requested details if I come across it again.

Okay first game of the night. I lose control of my player around the 2 second mark of the clip (I'm the center, red). You will see me skating backwards toward the boards but I was trying to position myself defensively in front of the eventual goal scorer. The whole time I am trying to push in other directions. This led to a goal by the other team because I couldn't move for about 3 or 4 secs.

This game is so laggy tonight compared to last night. Not sure what was happening last night but tonight the game is performing like absolute dog doodoo. Momentary freezes, loss of player control, what appears to be network lag but when you look the highest ping spike is 70ms. In NHL 20 I never had trouble playing a smooth 70 ping game. It was a little muddy but I was able to keep up. This edition the spikes are so sporadic and random and don't match the network performance at all.

Back to Be A Pro. I'm trying to build rank and can't do it when 10% of the game is spent not being able to control my player.
