I've done it before by holding LT+RT (or L2+R2) and pulling down on the left stick, but I'm not 100% sure because it only happened once in the demo, I'm a fight till the knockout kind of fighter.

So many fights its retarded and takes so long. I have to fight at least 4 times a game it sucks hate it.

Almost every time I hit a person I have to stand up and fight one of his teammates. ( I cannot say no to this fight, or turtle, which should be allowed)
This happens at least 3 times a game, not to mention a few more times when the my own CPU teammates or the opposition does so.
So first off this happens way to often, where as in the real NHL this happens less then once a week, most fights in the NHL are usually staged.
(for which I have yet to see this happen now, I've played over 20 games now)
Next off, the teammate that comes in to fight for his partner starts the fight. This should always result in an instigator penalty.
If NHL14 does not have this, then it is not true to NHL rules.
EA Fix this please, let us say no or turtle to these fights, make these fights way more infrequent and make the teammate who comes in get at least a
2 minute instigator or more.
Thank you.

Have you tried a different fighter setting for your pro? I'm not sure if that would help but I know I don't seem to experience that issue at least. If anything I have to really antagonize people to be able to get a fight.

My 2 way Defenseman Pro for the fighting setting is on rarely.
I don't think that matters after you lay a guy out and then they want to fight.
- Anonymous12 years ago
Yeah some fights are automatic. I have my current pro set as never fights, still get the occaisional fight if I want it but don't wind up with many automatic fights after laying someone out. Definitely seems like something should be fixed there if Rarely is getting you multiple fights per game.

Has EA fixed this with too many fights happening?
Doesn't look like it, even my teammates have nice clean hits and the opposition stands up for his teammate and makes him fight.
Still over 3 fights a game.
No instigator or anything for their enforcer.
- Anonymous12 years agoI contacted the team re: fights, and this is what they said:
This is working as designed.
Don’t use your stars to hit if you don’t want them to fight.
Don’t charge into hits (glide). Even if it doesn’t trigger a charging penalty it may trigger a retaliation fight.
The second one there is the main thing, players used to previous games get in the habit of always going for a huge hit when they can, which obviously leads to fights. Trying to go for smaller checks with the intent of removing the puck rather than blowing someone up will avoid almost all forced fights. - Anonymous12 years ago
This is very wrong and not true to the actual game in the NHL then.
Stars lay out big hits all the time and do not have to fight (and usually dont) if they don't want to.
They have the option to skate away, turtle, or get their own teammate/enforcer to stick up for them.
(If they don't know this, then they don't want NHL hockey)
Guys even stick up for teammates even from the bench.
Ex. Phil Kessel vs John Scott, and Clarkson left the bench to protect his star.
or
Ex. Paul Bissonette jumped in to protect his star the other game, cause the star didn't want to fight.
or
as per usual, they just turtle or skate away.
Next, it doesn't matter if they fight or not, the oppositions teammate starts the fight, so this should always result in an instigator penalty.
(again watch NHL hockey and this is always the right call)
I only deliever clean hits this is just a pain to see these fights and as well no instigator calls (time and time again, 3+ times a game)
Please fix this.
Thank you for listening.
P.S. While fixing this, can they also fix the glitch where fights happen and my player gets a "major for fighting" and the opponents fighter gets nothing.
This seems to only happen in the 3rd period, once a game. I've had times where say Pietrangelo gets a 5 minute major for fighting, and Joe Thornton who was also in the fight gets no penalty then scores 2 goals on a major powerplay.
I took pictures and it says in the stats only the major for fighting for my player and nothing for the opponents. This must be fixed.
