No version of NHL to PC?

Hello ice skaters!

I suddenly got an urge to play some NHL to relive my young years playing NHL -97 to NHL -99 all day long. So I went into Origin and searched for it. But I can't find NHL to PC? Why is that there is no version to PC? I can't imagine that the player base is too small. I mean even FIFA is still made in a PC version.

Best regards,

aMp

  • There hasn't been a PC version for around 10 years now; There is a vocal minority still pining for a port but each year people lose more and more hope.

There are a few recent discussions on the subject a little further down so I recommend you check em out. Imo, your best chance for NHL on PC is next year when new consoles hit

  • I don't understand why every other sports game can be on PC but NHL can't. It's my favorite sports game and I'm not willing to buy and Xbox and Xbox live over it but I wish the people at EA could put in the work and make a PC version. It would make me really happy and I know many of my friends who would also buy it. I think this message doesn't just speak for myself but for thousands of other people. So EA bring back NHL to PC Please.

The simple answer is other sports are vastly more popular than NHL and there just arent enough people to warrant the work needed for a PC port.

I hope, for your sake, the PC community can get a large and consolidated petition going on a single website/forum to show the team y'all are serious. Right now, the pro-PC voices are scattered across a huge array of websites and locations

While we'd love to see NHL on PC again, but there just isn't a large enough audience for it. You also have to consider the niche aspect of hockey itself. This is a sport that is popular in a handful of locations globally whereas something like soccer is popular everywhere.

Yes, you may have friends who play on PC and know some others that would play it as well, but in the end, the console players vastly outweigh the PC players. A lot of work would go into a PC version, which would also take away from development of the console version. So, sacrificing new features, bug fixes, tuning, updating, etc, for the console version to build a PC port that would be played by a fraction of the player base, doesn't really make a lot of sense. Hopefully, this will change someday. We'd love to see NHL reach a larger audience, but have to consider satisfying the current audience as well.
