Re: Invalid account message megathread

Getting Account Invalid error when trying to play NHL. I can sign into the EA account via web browser with no issues. 

**Update** I reset both the EA and PSN passwords - Am able to successfully authenticate into each one, getting error message via EA Logon saying that my PSN is Ineligible

    This is the error message I get when launching NHL 20 - no logon prompt occurs within the game itself.

    I am having the same issues. Can't play a single EA title on PSN.

    I contacted customer support and the person on the other side assured me to just login through Origin, and reset my password.

    He said within 20 minutes the account would be illegible again.


    Well, guess what... It's not.

    I will never be purchasing another EA title, ever again. Because I can't access multiplayer.

    @Dagobu 

    Try resetting your password again. There are times it takes multiple tries to get past this error. Also, if action was taken on your account for violating the Terms of Service, that could cause this error. You may want to talk to an advisor again and see if this is possible.

  • So all these accounts I'm seeing being invalid on the internet all of a sudden randomly, obviously isn't just me.. but no easy solution, no help from resetting profile passwords/confirmations, and no idea besides trying to call a hotline to figure this out? I play almost every other day and I go to play two days ago and (invalid account) 2 days later still... invalid. This doesn't make sense and if this is how EA games might be (randomly invalidating accounts for NO reason) to keep you from playing the game modes you play, what's the point of ever investing in EA ever again?

    If you don't have access to the email on your account, you'll need to go through the account recovery process. That begins by filling out the webform here.

  • Hi, I appreciate the reply, but unfortunately I do easily have access to my email that's linked to my ea account. The moment I tried to log on  to NHL20 I was shocked as to why I would see an invalid account message on my NHL load up that I have never seen before. So I definitely took to the internet to try to fix this solution because it definitely seemed odd to me, but just as odd as it was, it should be an easy fix right? But as easy as I thought it would be to reset and recover passwords, to fix it, it didn't. I'm just still confused why, if I didn't do any type of different activity on my account, why this would happen? If it's to happen randomly like so, why would it happen without an easier solution? And if I can't easily fix this.. and if I only play online games.. why would you want to put your consumers through all this trouble. I hope there is easier solution to this for myself and for many others it seems. Is there anything that might be of help besides a call line? I hope there is any easy fix to this for people who invest into this company to play the game and be told you can't play the game you paid for. This would be for all the people who has access to their EA account emails and resetting their passwords or recovering the account simply does not help. Please don't tell me I have to call a hotline? I been a big gamer of the EA roster..at least as of the last 20 years.. but something about doing it to my favorite game at the moment and feeling powerless about it, might not sit well in the long run. Sincerely, a big EA gamer... 

  • @EA_Aljo let me try this form. Even though I have complete access to my email that's linked I didn't know this was neccessary. Anything that works though is appreciated at this point. Hoping for results...!

    If you have access to the email on your account, this should be able to be fixed pretty easily. Try resetting your password at www.origin.com. I've heard it can take a few tries. If that doesn't work though, @ry contacting @EAHelp through Twitter or open a case with a live support advisor here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/. You can also go to facebook.com/eahelphub to get in touch with support. They'll look into this for you. Thanks!

  • I officially hate this game.. after going through 4 different origin password resets.. confirmation codes out the *.. with access to my ea account, access to my origin account, access to view my EA profile showing I am active user, yet going through this ALL WEEK, to not play 1 single day. NONE OF THIS WORKS. Does this mean my account will be invalid if I buy NHL 21 as well? Mercy...

  • How am I suppose to BYPASS THIS? literally letting me log into my account.. JUST TO SAY MY ACCOUNT IS INVALID.. smh

  • @EA_Aljo What do I do if I'm looking right at my ea profile, ea origin account log into with psn.. invalid!!!!!!! How is it invalid when im freaking logging in my account???? I just want to play hockey wtf! Changed passwords 4 times through origin... wtf man this is getting unbearable to find a solution to fix this!!!!!
  • Again. Changed passwords to link origin with psn account through THE EA help login site.. I log my origin account in then go to link it with PSN and STILL Gives me ACCOUNT INELIGIBLE????? PLZ HELP. I HAVE CHANGED MY PASSWORDS SO MUCH I CAN'T KEEP UP. VERIFIED ALL MY ACCOUNTS. I HAVE WENT THROUGH THIS PROCESS 6 OR 7 DIFFERENT TIMES NOW. WHAT ELSE IS THERE WHO CAN I TALK TO THAT WILL GET MY ACCOUNT BACK TO ME NOW???????

  • @dustmann I can't get past linking my psn to my EA through the sign In tab. I'm able to log into my origin. And into my psn. Then when i go to log into origin and then to link with psn it says my account is invalid... I've tried resetting passwords multiple times just the past few days... I'm lost as of now as to what will help

    Are you trying to sign in with the same email address of the account you're posting here with?

  • Yes and It won't link my EA account with my PSN account when I try to link them. Says invalid account. Yes I changed to 4 new passwords and it still won't allow me to link. But I can sign in through each services individually... I can't make sense of it.. hence why I still haven't been able to recover just through linking and password recovery 

  • I even went through the trouble of verifying my psn email and account to make sure that wasn't a problem... and I still can't link the two back together. I don't know how It got invalid in the 1st place as I was playing almost every day up until this point.. everything was normal

    Most likely your PSN ID is already linked to another account. That would be why you're getting that invalid message when trying to do so. An advisor might be able to better help with this.
