Re: Poor ping/connection

@slynick513

Is anyone streaming anything while you play? That's going to have an impact on your connection. What system are you playing on?

  • Playing on PS4. The lag was happening when only the PS4 was connected and using the internet

    Let's see if alternate DNS servers will help. Please follow the instructions here. If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4. Let me know what happens.

    EA unable to admit that there servers are the problem? "Unfortunately due to the increase number of players on all our games and platforms it has caused a strain on our servers. We are working hard to get this fixed"

    This hasn't been the issue so far. We're not aware of any problems with the servers. Can you run that UO Trace for me? That will give us some really good details on your connection.

  • When are you guys going to get some servers up in Toronto, Ontario? How pathetic this game is when it comes to online with pings of 1000 ? The only closest server to us in Toronto is in Montreal... I know guys who ply in Montreal with pings of 8ms - 15 ms why can’t we get that over here in Toronto.....

  • No .. but it’s been crappy for 2 months now with high pings , player feels slow in eashl I play with a dangler 170 pounds and he feels like he’s skating in mud..  our whole team was on 1000 and sometimes 2000ms .. any server in Toronto, Ontario?

    You're hitting the Central server that is in the US. Even with that distance, you shouldn't be getting pings of 1000. It should be well under 100. Are you on a wired or wireless connection? Have you done any troubleshooting yet? I know it sounds basic, but if you haven't power cycled your modem, router and console in a while, that should be done.

  • Yea have done all that .. like I said it was all 12 of us playing league gaming lg .. on eashl .. what I wanna know what the closest ea server to me ? I’m living in Toronto, Ontario , Canada

    You're on the Central US server. I can't give an exact location though. My LG team had 1 game lag last night, but the other 5 had no issues. That's how it's been lately where 1 game out of several has this. Once we quit out and find another game, it's fine. I'm not saying this is ok by any means though. There's just a lot of variables at play when you're talking about 12 people connecting to the game. Especially with the state of affairs in the world today. The strain on the internet is causing many connections to lag or disconnect when they otherwise wouldn't have. If you are very frequently seeing 1000 MS pings, we should go through some troubleshooting.

    There are east servers, but those in Toronto would be connecting to the central servers as they are closer.

  • I have friends who play in Montreal which they are in the east why do they have there own server in the east ? They don’t connect to a central server ..so why do we in Toronto that makes no sense

  • Yea which is in Montreal... why  would I connect to a central server if I’m in Toronto in the east

  • I’m like 5 hours away from Montreal.. I’m almost 7 hours away from Ohio how does that make any sense?

    Driving to Ohio would be longer than driving to Montreal, but the actual distance, in a straight line, from Toronto to Ohio is shorter than Toronto to Montreal.
