Out of curiosity… What are your games like? What is the average score? How many shots are you seeing in that time frame? Players at 65 speed, they must be hauling.
- SuperGoalies4 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Javiair am trying everything and sliders don't seem to work right now, game needs half a dozen patches.
- Javiair4 years agoNew Vanguard
My sliders are vastly different from yours. I noticed you have attributes at 10/10 but lowered the shot accuracy to 45. At a 10/10 attribute the Elite players will still have amazing abilities because you essentially made them into supermen. Attribute slider is like a rubber band. On the right side are the 90+ rating players and on the left are the 70 rated players. At 0/10 the rubber band is compressed and the two ends are touching. Essentially the 70s players and the 90 players will play exactly the same. But now with every tick of the slider, now those ends will get further apart. At a 10/10 you have stretched out the rubber band to the max. So now the left side of the rubber band the right side are the furthest apart. So now the 90s players are Ice hockey gods, while the 70s players are pee wee, bee hive hockey players. The gap is the greatest at this setting. I keep mine at 5, seems like the best balance. 90s are 90s and 70s are 70s.
I restarted all the sliders at 0 and played many many 20min periods against the same team. I think I spent about 30 20min periods playing with the speed, agility, shot power, accuracy, passing, AI and I would raise just one setting at a time. And noticed even at everything down to 000, My team still scored. And what was terrible that the other team still scored against me. So I knew that no matter the settings, teams will score. So I went on to Skating first and adjusted the skating speed and agility and back skating.. Then Passing was next.. with everything at 000 I played more 20min periods and what worked, what didn’t work. I don’t want them to have magnets on their sticks and tried to get some human element, but making sure that they are NHL level players. So I adjusted those sliders.
Then puck control, shooting, goalies, checking penalties and finally the AI section..
As of now, I like the balance. It’s not perfect, but its good. My games are pretty even in shots and in goals.. and right now all I really adjust is the goalie save reaction time slider. If I’m winning by too much.. I raise it. Losing by 1 too many times, then I lower it and just that slider alone seems to work. My shooting numbers are One time accuracy 41 Shot accuracy-43, shot power-39 Slap shot accuracy-39 and slap shot power-43… I find that for the most part the elite shooters will still hit an 85 MPH slap shot and the middle of the road players will still have a good shot. With the accuracy at 43 and 39.. they are missing a lot of shots, hitting the posts just like a real game.. so I like the balance. BTW, when playing goalie, the human sliders don’t do anything when it comes to shooting or checking, or penalties
I’m still working on passing.. The % is still well above the NHL average of 65-85% and the games % is at 89% for me. So just have to find a way to lower it a few more % points.
But I’m still working on them but not too much. Puck control for me is nice as CPU-57 for most all “impact” sliders. Again, human sliders don’t mean anything if you are just playing goalie.
Current AI is 0 learning, 0 User strategy.. but with CPU and BAP strategy adjustment. I am at 4-6 respectfully.. This is giving me 25-30 shots in an 8 min period. If the shot balance is too great for my team then I lower the BAP strategy to 5.. if it’s still too great, then Ill match the CPU strategy but they already have such a massive advantage that I will always keep mine a tick or two higher than the CPU.
So far its going okay, the defense AI still junk tho. Might as well tape sticks to road cones but I just have to live with the 5 or 6 one on one chances.

Glad to see you sharing your sliders here on the forums, @SuperGoalies!
I'm going to highlight this to the top of this forum so others can share their sliders and describe the type of game style they're enjoying. - SuperGoalies4 years agoSeasoned Veteran
@JaviairI just discovered a new checking section, new pass reception ease, and puck pickups
I found it, settings for more checking and hits, on sorten speeds it produces hit totals of 43-47 hits, here it is
Checking
Board Effect None-Puck Carrier: 7-45
Board Effect Puck Carrier: 7-45
Hitting Assistance: 10
Stumble Threshold: 75
Fall And Stumble Ease: 65
Aggression: CPU: 85-90 / Human: 85-90
Hitting Power: CPU: 50 / Human: 50 (this is key for a lot of hits in players and goalies)
Size Effect: CPU: 60-65 / Human: 60-65
Speed Effect: CPU: 45 / Human: 45
Checking/Balance Rating Effect: CPU: 100 / Human: 100
Preparedness Effect: CPU: 45 / Human: 45 (for years this was a 51 for both AI CPU and Human) (it's just right now.)
Incidental Contact Effect: CPU: 65-75 / Human: 65-75
Poke Checking Accuracy: CPU: 100 / Human: 100
Poke Checking Power: CPU: 50 / Human: 50 (this can be whatever)
Stick Lift Effectiveness: CPU: 100 / Human: 100
at end of first-period hits were 11-12 for both sides. which is good.
here is what am talking about puck pickups
now starting experimenting with realistic puck pickups and passing pickups, here's what I like so far, one that is so solid it's not even funny anymore, but I took look at NHL and found they sure intercept pass easy and also very little puck fumble, I think NHL 22 has potential to replicate it, I found one that almost looks like it from my point of view as a goalie:
Pass Reception Ease: CPU: 45-50 / Human: 45-50
Reception Reaction Time: CPU: 23-24 / Human: 23-24
Pass Speed Reception Effect: CPU: 50 / Human: 50
PickUp Type Effect: CPU: 54 / Human: 54
Bouncing Puck Receptions: CPU: 45 / Human: 45
Puck Control: CPU: 20-35 / Human: 20-35
I've started to really started to like this one by far, I think this is spot on, its got puck control and puck fumbles more speed at picking up the pass, and more shots ability I almost cried when I saw this, here is another settings that have got more puck fumbling and stuff
Pass Reception Ease: CPU: 45-50 / Human: 45-50
Reception Reaction Time: CPU: 25 / Human: 25
Pass Speed Reception Effect: CPU: 50 / Human: 50
PickUp Type Effect: CPU: 54 / Human: 54
Bouncing Puck Receptions: CPU: 45 / Human: 45
Puck Control: CPU: 20-35 / Human: 20-35 - Javiair4 years agoNew Vanguard
I am going with the idea that NHL are the best in the world. I watch the games and how they stay upright no matter how hard they get hit or who they contact. During a game you don’t see too many players hit the ice via a hit.. but mostly at the battles in front of the net, but this game doesnt have battles like that.
Checking… As BAP goalie the human sliders do nothing. Can have them up to 100 or down to 0 they will have zero effect on a goalie. I have played with the sliders on this and it has nothing to do with the human teammate. I thought it did, but it doesnt. I have played many games with the human slider at 0 and 100 and have shown no change in the game. So for this section as a goalie, human sliders are either at 100 or 0 but it only affects me and not my team mates. I think only 1 slider affects team mates and that’s the penalty slider..
Board effect non puck carrier.. I have this at 49.. can’t really notice a change and why would a NHL non puck carrier stumble when interacting with the boards? But Ill lower it to 10 and see if there are changes.
Boarding with puck: 49 but will play with lower settings, see if there are any changes, but since there is no rating for a player.. I don’t know what this effects.. Balance? Puck control?
Hitting assistance we are both low: It’s really hard to hit an NHL clean.. so I do have a lower number.
Stumble threshold: Mine is low.. 25.. these guys are the best in the world and not pee wee so they shouldn’t fall too often.
Aggression 67
Hitting Power: 57.. I figured I made it harder to hit a player, but if they do, it should have more of an impact than the default. So bumped it up to 57.. players are still hitting the ground on a clean hit.
Size, Speed, Preparedness effect are all at 57..Hey, if you are not expecting a hit, it should effect you.
Checking/Balance effect is at 67.. I figured 66 uses 66% of the checking and balance rating.. I honestly don’t see a difference, but…
Incidental contact is where we are different, I have 17… two players from opposite teams shouldn’t be stumbling with they accidentally hit one another. I also don’t know if this has to do with board interactions. But players shouldn’t be falling that easy.
Poke check accuracy is low since I figured its really hard to get an actual poke check, but I reward it with a more powerful poke check power. My poke check accuracy is 25% but the power is 41. Just enough to knock the puck away from a lower rated player.. a higher rated player will still have control of the puck..
Stick lift the same thing. Low accuracy.. a 25% chance of succeeding.
Passing I did extensive plays with this.. at times it was comical because the puck pick up was so funny but frustrating because no one could pick up the puck.. so this is what I have.
Min pass speed 35. Max pass speed 54, and saucer pass speed 57… I watched a lot of games, timed the puck passing across the ice and the min speed of 35 is about what an NHL game is at.. its actually too fast vs real nhl game, but it would be far too slow for this game. And here is where the human slider does affect the goalie, but no one else.
Pass accuracy it at 50.. I tried this at 0 and still the pass % was still at 90% so this has no effect on pass success %. Just uses attributes. I might try to have this at 100 and see what happens.
Pass receptions we are at the same..I use 43
Pass interceptions: 33. Anything more than my shots on goal go down a lot..I found this do effect shots on goal.
Pass reaction time, rating effect, speed reception effect, are all at 57.. I found at a lower number the pass % are up in the mid 90s. And the opponent one timer shot is just too powerful no matter how fast the puck was coming.
Puck Control is fairly straight forward.
Immunity is at 3. At 0 the game flow slows down because the poke checks and stick lifts were too powerful. Could be a placebo effect too..
All impacts are at 57.. this lower rated guys will have a hard time with puck control but the higher rated guys will have more control.
And with my shot power at 39 I have my goalie reaction time at 100 and the CPU at 33. I still get scored on with a wrist shot and the CPU goalie still performs like a Veznia trophy winner.. I do bump up my speed an agility to the max.. The CPU has a huge advantage that I have to lessen the gap.
those are mine, Ill average about 15 hits per game, 30 shots per 8 min game, passing % will be 87-90% so its a good balance so far.
Have fun my friend..

am gonna try to make it the least feasible to play in be a pro player, I got 2 things going at once, franchise coach mode and be a pro player.
am still not happy with pass interceptions at all, it's really hard to engage at moment, I had my eye on Pass interceptions: CPU: 50-90, I've had success with this In the past, anyways booting up NHL 22 now, my gut feeling am going with pass interceptions: CPU: 90 / Human: 90.

I've been thinking of new checking setting one less extreme than one I have now, so here's what it looks like am thinking of doing:
Checking
Board Effect None-Puck Carrier: 7-45
Board Effect Puck Carrier: 7-45
Hitting Assistance: 10
Stumble Threshold: 75
Fall And Stumble Ease: 65
Aggression: CPU: 85 / Human: 88-92
Hitting Power: CPU: 50 / Human: 50
Size Effect: CPU: 65 / Human: 65
Speed Effect: CPU: 33-35 / Human: 33-35
Checking/Balance Rating Effect: CPU: 75-100 / Human: 75-100
Preparedness Effect: CPU: 45-51 / Human: 45-51
Incidental Contact Effect: CPU: 65-75 / Human: 65-75
Poke Checking Accuracy: CPU: 85-100 / Human: 85-100
Poke Checking Power: CPU: 50-100 / Human: 50-100
Stick Lift Effectiveness: CPU: 100 / Human: 100I also added other ones, am thinking of trying in the near future.

so we now know in playoffs they hardly call penalties or interference penalties, it's only during the season do the penalties skyrocket to 0/6 - 0/6. when playoffs start penalties are so low in fact I saw a game where penalties were like 0/2 - 0/2 and 0/4 and 0/4 and 0/4 - 0/3, if it's the veteran referee, of course, he's gonna let them play. so how do we copy penalties between season and playoffs since they are completely different referees and different calls, one thing am thinking of having two different penalties section 1 regular season and 1 playoff, now generally interference: CPU: 95 / Human: 95 for season and Interference: CPU: 85 / Human: 85 for playoffs. so right now am gonna adjust my sliders for CPU: 95 / Human: 95 for the season on my player sliders.
