I managed to add the game and it shows up on Origin.
However when I click on play it asks for disc.
Is this normal for a non-origin game that I have installed on my pc?

Adding a non Origin game to Origin is a good way to have an overview of all your games, but it won't change the start options of this game.
So, if Zoo Tycoon requires the disk you need to put it in regardless.

Its an older Microsoft game. Zoo Tycoon Collection.
