[Issue Resolved] - Sims 4 Cannot Install Update
hello fellow ea'ers
i am the (not so) proud owner of a macbook and thus i am forced to still use origin. with this new update however, i have run into quite a problem. i cannot update sims 4.
it will update for a few seconds and then it'll "crash". the timer will was "0h 0m 0s" and from there on out it is not moving any further, and i have to restart the app - within an hour i managed to get to 27% after numerous restarting of the app, of my computer and even of my internet - before i decided to just uninstall the game, to see if that would work (spoiler: it didn't.) i even uninstalled the origin app as well.
i have cleared my origin cache. restarted more times than i can count on 2 hands. and since i uninstalled the game, i can't download it again - it either says "resuming" after i've restarted the app, or it says "0h 0m 0s". i've been battling this for an hour and im sick and tired of it.
what can i do?
This does indeed appear to be fixed 🙂
If anyone is still having issues with updating/repairing/downloading, it's worth logging out of Origin, quitting the app, restarting and logging back in again. Don't forget, there is always the Origin reset tool if you want to clear preferences and caches files, it's a great troubleshooting tool https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Mac-Client-Technical/Clearing-Origin-cache-on-Mac-the-correct-way/m-p/12352783#M137370
