Origin PC wont open, already tried everything

I try to open my origin and it simple dont open, go directly to a send report window, also no clue what is causing this.

Already try administrator mode and update, this is constantly even the installer that i just downloaded dont work originthinsetup.exe!

I Have Steam, Epic and Ubisoft stores, i have this problem only with the all might EA, and no one gives an aswer!

  • I understand why you may feel it is an issue with Origin @Revvyy but if it was then we would have hundreds if not thousands of reports. I am not trying to play down the issue or anything just setting the expectation that this will be solved by some troubleshooting on the system.

When you launch Origin does it run in the background? If so can you try the following steps:

    • In task manager end "Origin", "OriginWebHelperservice" and "OriginThinSetupInternal"
    • Open you Origin install folder
    • Delete the file "OriginThinSetupInternal'
    • Right click on Origin and then select "Troubleshoot compatibility"
    • Click "Try recommended settings" and then"Test the program"
    • Save the settings in the compatibility troubleshooter.
    • Origin will prompt that you are using a compatibility setting. Click continue.

Let me know how you get on.

  • I am also having the same issue with Origin client that won't start in Widows 10 PC. Tried all the suggested solutions thus far but none helped and I still cannot open Origin and yes I did uninstall and re-install the Origin client for PC but nothin helped. Too much effort goes into this and I've also send the error report from within Origin client. From what I read it is only a few people that are experiencing this problem or it could be a bigger issue but only a few people that actually felt like reporting the problem to EA?

I'm also having problems - with Origin and with Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Reader suddenly lost their exe files - even though I could see them sitting in their usual places - and they had all three functioned normally within the previous 24 hours and nothing had been done to the computer (so far as I am aware) in the meantime.

Reinstall didn't work with any of the recent software - but it did with a very old bit of Lotus software (that always was a good product!).

Since then, the computer has been fully (professionally) checked for virus, malware, and all the rest, and a couple of minor problems have been dealt with.  Four attempts were required to download Office 365 and have the exe file recognized for what it was.

At least ten attempts have been made to install Origin again.  Failures because of missing MSVCP149.dll and missing Origin.exe ad nauseam.

Already put the info up as a bug - no reply from anyone so far.

Also no access to Sims 4 (not the most intellectual of games, perhaps, but expensive in terms of add-ons).

Somebody with a direct line to them could usefully prod EA/Origin into investigating what is clearly NOT a unique problem since there are plenty of other CUSTOMERS trying to solve it by themselves.  After all, we ARE customers (and some of us don't understand why Origin is there in the first place).

Or perhaps I should say:  I WAS a customer.  Until I can install Origin on my existing computer, I won't be buying any more EA games!

PS I should have added that I'm still running on Windows 7 - no outstanding updates!
  • I am having a similar issue. I have cleared caches reinstalled rebooted and done every other one of your suggestions to no avail and I can not play these games i paid for. It is very angering.

  • FOUND THE SOLUTION!

IN AMD USERS JUST DOWNLOAD ADRENALINE VERSION GO IN SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS AND PUT ORIGIN HIGHT PERFORMANCE

IN NVIDIA USERS GO AND PUT PC RUN WITH GPU AND RUN PROGRAMS WITH NVIDIA

THIS IS THE SOLUTION DONT DISABLE ANTIVIRUS

    THIS WORKS!!!!
