Re: How to change e-mailaddress and/or actually contact EA support?

Well, that's why I'm posting here. I get no response on either chat or mail, so I try the forums as a last resort.

I already tried several times to resume my cases and opening new chat sessions. The chat window opens, but nobody seems to be answering (and yes, I have been patiently waiting, right now I have another chat window open for probably more than an hour and still no response)

It doesn't seem browser related either. I tried chatting via Firefox, Chrome and Edge. It makes no difference. No ad blockers active and everything else works just fine.

I requested e-mail support, multiple times, which should have been answered within 72 hours ... no response.

I'd have tried phone support, but that's not available for my region (Netherlands).

Hoping someone will answer my latest mail ....

This is getting really frustrating. It should not be this difficult to change my account settings.

    Can you try using our Twitter/Facebook support instead? I see you're requesting chats. I don't know why they aren't being responded to though.

  • Following up on your advise, I set up a Twitter account just for this reason and send a message to EA Help asking for assistance. At least I got a response, but not the one I was hoping for: they cannot help me via Twitter, I'll have to contact an advisor via the EA Help site. Explaining that I already tried that multiple times without getting response, the answer is that it takes time to process alt the thousands of daily support calls, that it's not very helpful ro create duplicate requests on the same issue and that I just have to be more patient....Really?. While I do understand this reasoning from an  incident management point of view, I also think this reply is not very helpful towards the customer and that EA should wonder why they get so many duplicate requests  I can easily explain mine.

    Bottom line: Twitter support didn't get me anywhere either. Not going to try facebook (for which I also have to setup a new account).

    @EA_Aljo : I do appreciate you're trying to help.

    Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, when you don't have access to the email on the account, there really isn't anything we can do. We're even more limited through Answers HQ. I'm very sorry, but I don't think we'll be able to recover access to the account currently.

  • Still no response from EA Help. EA advisors must be non existent. Instead of answering my e-mailrequest, they just close my support tickets.... Guess this means goodbye EA. Why would I buy anything from a company with such horrible customer support? I wlll probably lose access to my own account anytime soon because EA is not at all helpful changing a simple e-mailaddress. ... this also means that I will probably be excluded from the products I bought in the past.  This is not customer support, this is 'how to lose your customers'

    I see an advisor responded a couple of days ago, but is not hearing back from you. There are multiple ways to contact advisors. You can try messaging @EAHelp through Twitter or open a case with a live support advisor here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/. You can also go to facebook.com/eahelphub to get in touch with support.

  • How exactly did they respond? I didn't receive any mail and don't have a spam filter. active.

    If they replied to my old, currently registered e-mail address, then they will certainly not get an answer, becasue that's not an active e-mail account anymore, as stated in my case.. I cannot access it, I will not receive any mails send there. That's the whole point why I want to update my e-mailaddress and why I cannot change my e-mailaddress myself.. I explicitly asked to contact me on my new e-mailaddress.

    I can't see any replies when I look at my cases in EA Help. The only options I have is to end the case or resume it (and reqiuesting again for chat or e-mail support .....)

    I do see a status 'In progress' or 'waiting for player'.  But  it's not at all clear what it is they're waiting for as I see or receive no messages at all.

    Only when I am not logged in and request for help I will receive an e-mail that my request has been recieved (so it is possible for EA to e-mail me). When I am logged in and do the same I will not receive such a confirmation by mail).

    1. Chat-function via EA Help doesn't work. I do see a chat window with the status 'Wait for chat'. That status never changes. I already spend hours waiting on those. Browser doesn't matter. VPN on/of makes no difference. time of day: no difference.

    2. Can't use the  call-function as I am not a US or Canadian resident, I live in the Netherlands.

    3. I don't receive any responses on my e-mail request

    4. I don't see any reactions on My Cases. Only the option to 'End case' or 'Resume' and a status 'in progress' or 'waiting on player' No messages whatsoever, not even the ones I registered  myself when opting for e-mail support. Only the subject.

    5. Tried Twiitter, for which I had to create a Twitter account first. The answer ffrom EA was that they cannot help me via Twitter. Must contact an advisor via EA Help. Go back to start ....

    6. Not going to try facebook. I consider the whole idea of having to rely on non privacy friendly third parties for getting customer support from EA ridiculous. And most likely I will get the same answer as via Twitter.

    The whole support systems seems broke, like I am totally blocked or something, Never experienced this with any other customer services from other companies.

    I can't create a new account either. I can fill in all details, do the captcha-check, only for EA's website to respond that it's currently not possible to create an account due to techinical issues and I should try again later. I did try again later, a couple of times on several days. I even got a captcha once I had to answer 30 (!) times before EA tells me it's not possible to create a new account. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I read in some forums that it's probably due to the e-mailprovider I use (I use Mailfence, others experiencing the same bs with Proton). If this is true, EA should really rethink it's customer approach   ..... a gmail-address was not accepted either by the way. Tried it on my PC as well as on my tablet.

    EA seems really insistent on NOTkeeping me as a customer. Most customer services I know are trying to do just the opposite.

    I am fairly certain I'm not doing any weird things /having any abnormal configuations to cause all this. I only experience this behavior with EA..

    If you have access to an EA Advisor, you could probably help me by showing this thread tto them and asking them to contact me on my Mailfence e-mailaddress (they can look it up in my cases),. I really see no other way to get into contact.

    They responded using the email on your account. As far as the other issues go, try using a Chrome browser in incognito mode. It's possible cookies are causing some issues.

  • They responded using the email on your account... Absolutely brilliant. That's some real thinking you did there EA. Well, tried maybe,.

    Can't login into my account on incognito windows, because of .... guess what ... account verfications send to my non available old e-mailaddress.

    Just filed a new ticket outside of my account. Hopefully somenone s smart is enough to answer me on the e-mailaddress I noted in the e-mailaddress-field and not to my non existent, non functioning, non available old e-mail address. Referred to this topic as well.

    If that also leads to no response, well, I guess I can't reason with madness.  I have no intent on supporting madness either, so that only leaves me the option to exclude EA from any further purchases.

    I see no need in continuing this thread, as it's not getting me anywhere. Thanks, Aljo, for trying at least. I'm out.

    A live support advisor can help update your email as long you can pass verification. I really don't know why chat isn't working for you. Unless you're choosing options that don't have chat available like submitting a bug. If you're choosing Manage my account > Can't log in, that should get you to a chat advisor. You can also try our Twitter/Facebook support. They may take a bit to get back to you, but they are very good at helping with account issues. If they don't respond within 24 hours, try again. They often have a high volume of messages and some may not be seen.

    @1sh0tenough

    I can't help with making changes to your account. To get in touch with one, try messaging @EAHelp through Twitter or open a case with a live support advisor here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/. You can also go to facebook.com/eahelphub to get in touch with support. They'll look into this for you. Thanks!
