Hi, I just bought the sims 4 with origin and I can't get it to start. Everytime I try to start the game, going through the origin launcher and the desk icon, the same message appears : Unable to start : the sims 4 is already running, even if the game is not currently running on my computer. It is making it impossible for me to play the game and I do not understand why it does that. Any of you got the same problem?
Community ManagerI haven't been able to play my game in months now, tried everything possible there is to try. getting tired of it myself reading boards after boards to see what I can do to fix the problem. Rebooted and deleted and reinstalled tried it all.....not happy about this I will never buy game this way again.

Hi, I bought Sims 4 today and have tried starting it up to no avail, I also get that message saying that the game is already running when it is not. I have tried to reboot my PC, deleted and re-installed Origin and Sims 4 but with no success. I'm starting to give up and might have to ask for a refund unless this issue gets fixed.

I have been playing the Sims4 for years. i have purchased every single expansion and game pack in addition to several of the stuff packs - all individually. My Mac just updated and I am getting that message as well - it says that the application is already running and will not open. I have invested hundreds of dollars into this game over the past few years and will demand a full refund if this does not get fixed. I have now been on hold with tech support for over 30min after waiting over an hour for a call. This is absolute BS customer service.
@radiokarma79 Move your Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game again, a clean folder will spawn with no content. You should be able to load it without getting the error again, at which point you can quit and move the contents of your Saves and Tray folders (plus Mods if you use them) from your old Sims 4 folder to your new one.
