Sorry, not sorry 😉, to dredge up an old thread. I'm a lvl 20 necromancer, so its okay 😋
Any word on this? I read that they were rekindling Maxis a few years back, did that happen?
tbh SimCity (2013) introduced a lot of REALLY good concepts and was in many ways a big step forward. Sure, there were some crippling bugs...lessons learned, do better next time and move on!
Franchises like Tropico and Anno show there is still a vibrant community and interest in the genre.
Bring back SimCity already!! EA already has a great game in SimCity 2013. They just need to modify it.
The graphics, even in 2024, is still really good. The only thing needed, really, is larger maps, and fixing some bugs here and there, but other than that, it is a finished game.
So instead of creating a new game, fix the one you have already, because I and others really like it. It's just the map size that's bothersome.Of course it can be improved more, but just the bugs and map sizes would do it for me. I really love the game and I have spent so many hours on it, even 11 years later 🙂

Hey! The future of another SimCity on PC is uncertain, but hopes are high with the approaching anniversaries of SC4 and SC2013. Fans are vocal about wanting a new, single-player-focused title. Let's stay tuned for potential announcements in the near future!
I have to say my favorite is SimCity cities of Tommorrow I love the features it has and I wish in sim city 6 I think it would be cool to have more maps bigger maps and more things to do maybe add where you can buy more tiles from the map your on and then I love how you can build more onto your buildings like schools, hospitals, universities, and. Bunch of others but yea keep that then I would add so much more tourism i think you should expand on the amusement parks maybe you should add water parks and I think you should be able to upgrade your road from an the high density to a high density streetcar Avenue without having to destroy them I love the amegaco and the way it looks but I want SimCity the next one to keep lot of the main elements from the last one and build apon that and maybe even have better graphics and maybe have more disasters too and add offices jobs and more I think this could be a big big huge breakthrough if you do that
Bring multiplayer with the game aswell, love how you can start a map with friends and play togehter, sending resources etc. But bigger cities so we can build more should be made. Maybe some new big projects could be added. And in general just make Simcity 2013 more modern. I think it would be a banger to get simcity back with todays technology.
Hello,
I just came across this thread and would also like to say that I would love a new SC game. I think the aesthetic and features of the 2013 version were good and if they were to be combined with the features of the SC build it phone game it would be perfect! So different residential zones, special buildings and roads.
Also it would be good if the texture of the parks from the 2013 game are fixed so the ground looks more like grass, or matches the region you are in rather than having some dark green/grey colour with white lines all over it.
I think EA should consider another SC game. I think it would be a big hit!
I would love to see SimCity comeback. Been a fan since the very first one. I did miss some of the old features like planning your own power lines, water lines and sewage.
Some other features that would be nice additions would be a better road management and planning. Being able to add in roundabouts and other traffic mitigation architecture would be nice. Even more plausible with larger maps.
Another feature would be to be able to connect multiple cities you create to one region but be able to actually edit how they connect. In a sense think of a major metropolitan city or area like NY or LA with multiple districts/cities then connect them all to make one mega city. Being able to create a "city" to be specifically suburbs or low, med, or high income areas while another is mostly commerce or industrial.
With the last SC it would be challenging to build a population and generate enough income without killing off your pop with pollution and other manmade hazards without multiplayer or creating multiple small cities in a region. Even so the ai wasn't intelligent enough to know that the connecting city was where education or jobs were and the cities would suffer or become stagnant without making them independent of eachother. Late game you could redo them but sometimes at great cost or catastrophic failure if the ai got confused.
There was a lot that could be tweaked and refined for a more intelligent responsiveness from the game and ai in the last SC which could be done in a new SC, especially with the advancements in tech we have in 2023 vs 2013.
Just a few of my thoughts.

DarkoThanks for that and now that Cities Skylines is getting a sequel it would be great if SimCity could get something too!

Darko If there is ever going to be a new sim city, I would like it to have roads underpasess and overpasess, same goes for train tracks. More complex traffic aragament in general. Bigger maps of course. To be able to move buildings, to have cemetery, more public transport options, more types of roads, bycicle lanes, pedestrian lanes. To be able to restart map! To be able to enable/disable dissasters. If needed reemploy gyus from Maxis, so EA could make a masterpiece game 😉
