have cd key, lost cd

i have the cd key for spore but lost the actual cd. i want to instal the game on my new computer. can i download the game and then input my cd key to activate and register?

    You need to get the CD key changed to a Digital key. Do this by contacting the EA Help Center. Once that has been done, you will be able to access the game without the CD.

    I lost my guide but still have the disk ipreviously registered spore can i get a copy of my code
