how come i cant log in on spore through steam?

It seems to be logging in fine for me, what error are you seeing? Do you have the game through EA Play or it was purchased direct from Steam?

I have the same problem : purchase it on steam. Download it. Start it. It asks for my account. I create an EA account on the net. I validate with the number send by email. When I use this emil/pwd, "Echec connection".
