Hello!
To change your spore profile picture you need to first login to spore.com
Once you've done that, navigate to "settings" and there should be an option under screen names to change your profile picture
Lemme know if you have any questions!
- 4 years ago@stilesak I can only change my spore avatar to one of my creations. When I upload a custom picture, it just won't change it to the uploaded picture.
- 4 years ago@XRealtutorialsX For anyone looking for a solution in the future, here it is:
I managed to change my profile picture on the Sporepedia by uploading a 200x200 .jpg image.
My original 544 x 640 .png image didn't work. It just wouldn't update.
But resizing it to 200x200 and saving it as .jpg in MS Paint fixed this issue. Now spore.com did accept my image.- 4 years ago

Hi! I've just stumbled upon this topic after having been unsuccessful at uploading the very same avatar I uploaded a year ago, and I remember I didn't have a problem with it. (But maybe I'm, wrong... I actually remember some 200x200 thing...) And it surprised me when I saw that your reply was left here yesterday (and on Saturday) with the older posts being here from 2019, so now I'm curious whether EA has done something again that has broken the avatar changing function? 😉And I think your 544x640 .png image didn't upload because it's said that your image should be square.
I guess that means that 200x200 is a square image and 200x199 is not a square image. Although, I did suceed in uploading a non-square image too, but it looked stretched and thus unpretty, so I guess those were just recommendations.
I'd also like to add that 'successfully upload an image' and 'have it displayed in the game' are different things! I was trying to upload images in different ways (changing size, format, etc.) and I would get it to upload but it wouldn't show up in game! Unfortunately, I cannot explain why but shortly after, it somehow began to work! 🤔 And whatever image I tried to upload (that DIDN'T display in game previously), all of them then DID show up successfully! Again, I don't know why. But anyway, I have managed to solve that problem of mine.
