How to fix corrupted Spore saves

I was playing and the game suddenly crashed, when I rebooted it, all my saves were gone ingame but still appeared in the files, I searched through the metadata of the files via HxD and there were no signs of corruption, a crash log in the files mentioned something about the game's memory failing, so what do I do?

Hi there, I’m sorry your saves disappeared after the crash.

Before making any further changes, please close Spore and create a copy of the entire folder below somewhere safe:

    C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\SPORE

You can also press Windows key + R, enter %appdata%\SPORE, and press Enter.

Inside the Games folder, you should see Game0 and Game0.old. Game0.old is an automatic backup of your galaxy.

    Please try the following:

    1. Rename Game0 to Game0.broken.
    2. Make a copy of Game0.old.
    3. Rename the copied folder to Game0.
    4. Launch Spore and check whether your saves return.

Please do not delete the original folders, even if this does not work. If the backup also fails, the saves may unfortunately be damaged beyond what normal troubleshooting can restore. Please also let us know how much free space is available on your Windows drive and whether you use any Spore mods, as these details may help identify what caused the crash.

    I hope this helps!
