How to redeem codes through EA help?

I am trying to redeem my Steam Spore code in Origin and allow access to my Spore account so I can use Bot parts, but it says this must be done through help.ea.com. How do I do this?

I previously owned Spore, but long since lost the code and disk, so I re-bought it on Steam, but I was unable to use the bot parts pack.
