is there a way to get back a missing package in spore?

Whenever i try to play spore it gets to the black loading screen but then it crashes, and it would say there's a problem causing spore to crash. But when i tried to play the this time it said that it could not find the default preferences and that the data directory is either missing or corrupt. Also is said that it could not find a needed package. so is there anyway to fix this problem?

    Hi @frostlared

    If you have a backup of your game, or a system backup of your machine, is it possible that you could restore it.

    If this is not the case, you would have to completely reinstall it.
