Is there actual EA staff to contact or just the AI chatbot?

No, EA_Darko , I didn't have any luck sending cases to EA. They all dismissed it as just me not being able to log in in my account and I still can't access the servers or ths online Spore content

    EA_Darkono one from the team contacted me. All my cases got dismissed as me not knowing how to log in.
