My Spore doesn't work and says "could not find the default preferences..."

One day, I tried reinstalling my copy of Spore from my Steam library (since it was still there after I swapped the game code to Origin), but this caused a horrible problem that I have been unable to solve ever since. I'm pretty sure i screwed something up when I download the Steam version of Spore without first uninstalling the Origin version that was already there, cuz now game wont launch at all! (even after i made sure to uninstall all of the Steam Spore content) I will attach an image of the error message that pops up whenever i try to launch the game.

Someone PLEASE help me?!
