Pre-Origin Spore Account Not Showing Up in EA App
Back in 2008, I bought a copy of Spore and created an EA account when activating it. I still have the CD key (but obviously can't use it anymore, since I already used it 15 years ago...). However, when I use the EA App (and also previously with Origin), Spore never showed up as a game in my library, and clicking on it would only give me the option to play it.
If I log into my Spore account on spore.com it shows that I have the base game and the robo parts pack (and also the creature creator trial, but who doesn't have that, right?).
My predicament is that I can't actually download the game, as it doesn't show up in my EA library. If I click on Spore in the app, it takes me to the purchase page. I contacted EA help (which was a herculean labor in and of itself) and they told me to restart my PC and disable a lot of startup tasks, which didn't make sense (and to be honest, reminded me of those scam Microsoft calls in the steps they wanted me to do...), as an API call should show the game in my library in both the app and anywhere else some API pings EA's servers.
The support representative told me that she assures me the game is in my library, but it's still not showing up in the EA app nor as one of my games in the Help Page (and doesn't show up in GOG Galaxy FWTW).
As a followup from EA Support, I got an email from them telling me to try different things, like restart my computer and reinstalling the EA app (which I've done), all of which indicating the problem is on my end.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what else I can try?
