Spore Creature Creator Crashes When Saving

Every time I try to save a creature in Creature Creator or try evolving to the next game stage, my game crashes and shuts down. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have tried clearing my cache and turning the graphics down and reinstalling the game but nothing is working.
