Spore makes my PC crash when I launch it

I recently re-downloaded Spore on my desktop. I launched it the first time, it seemed to work fine. But the resolution was not correct, and one of the texture details were too low.
So I changed it, closed the game (since it said that I'd need to restart it).
But now, whenever I launch it, I'll just have a black-screen (but not even dark pixels, just as if it was turned off), with a slight blue flash once in a while, and no way to do anything besides Ctrl+Alt+Suppr and shutting my session down.
I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it, it didn't work. I tried going into the text files to try and launch it in windowed mode, it didn't work. I tried letting it sit for a few hours (I thought it might just be an off loading), it didn't work.
Has anyone had this issue ? Did you manage to fix it ? And how ?
