Spore not starting for steam

I need help with spore I used to play it all the time because it was one of the best games out there but I tried to get back on a day or two ago but nothing happened it was just giving me the Configuration Script Failed [2000] then when I click OK my screen goes black for a sec then another Alert pops up saying could not find a needed package[1004] I don't know what to do I have tried everything and when I look up it up everyone tells me to look for the spore app file and open it there but that doesn't work I don't know what to do plz help me
