Spore Repeatedly Crashing

I had Spore installed on my old laptop and it worked great but since installing it on my new machine it keeps crashing; sometimes it won't even start a new game at the cell stage the screen just goes blank and then crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, running as administrator, repairing from the EA app but nothing seems to work. I have seen other people have had similar problems but none of the suggested solutions appear to work. I'm gutted because I love this game; can anyone help please?

    You could try wiping your galaxy, save data and options.

    1. Quit the game and go to this path: C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming

    2. Delete the 'Spore' folder or move it to another location.

    3. Load the game up again and test if it works.

    NOTE: The AppData folder is hidden by default. You can use the following options to get there:

    1. Press the Windows key + R

    2. In the box type '%appdata% and click okay.

    3. Follow the path to \Roaming.
