Anthem game refund

Alright, I'm gonna say my piece after hearing the news. Just recently, and not getting informed. Whatsoever through email that the game servers are being shut down, this will make the game completely unplayable.Considering there is no offline mode that was added to the game at all...

 

I think electronic arts should issue either a full refund for everybody who spent money for the game Itself and any other transactions or issue, a credit that would be usable either on playstation or xbox or whatever system you bought anthem on to buy another electronic arts game of your choice...

 

I mean, I spent, I think full price when it first came out  And I played and enjoyed quite a bit of it but i've also made comments to several support staff about the game and giving them Feedback 

I had no clue until recently. Honestly, that anthem was just an online game only. I thought there was gonna be a offline mode that was later going to be added or already had been added... i bought the game with the intention to be able to pick up and play considering that there are plenty of non playable characters in the game itself...

 

I'm hoping that there are others here.That feel the same way that I do...

 

I gave them income for a game to keep in my library and yes it's a physical addition.

I think I should either have the right to play it offline or receive a refund for the complete game that I paid for since the game is going to be completely unplayable.

    So... wouldn't Electronic Arts' refusal to give a refund technically be considered theft? I mean, think about it. Say I spend 60 USD on a solely online multiplayer game and then it is rendered unplayable because they shut down the servers. I can't ever access that game again as a result. Therefore, following that logic, I've now permanently lost 60 dollars that I can't EVER get back because they won't issue refunds.

    How then, in any universe, is this kind of practice from game companies such as EA even legal? No wonder the Stop Killing Games Initiative has the amount of supporters that it does. It seems there's all kinds of laws protecting these big video game industry corporations from theft, but who's protecting the consumers from theft from such corporations?

    The most obvious and basic concept of consumerism (in terms of buying goods) is that when people pay for a good, an exchange is made between the buyer and the seller. The buyer then OWNS said good (such as, in this case, a specific video game or console). Therefore, you the player, now OWN the game. If an individual or groups of individuals (Electronic Arts) take what someone else OWNS without their express permission OR knowledge, that is defined as STEALING. So that would mean as a company, you can be held liable within the court of law for any criminal damages incurred against the consumer. Therefore, wouldn't it be in the company's best interests financially to issue a refund so as to avoid potential lawsuits?

    Its doubtful, but I'm hoping EA sees this post on here and finds my arguments compelling enough to actually start implementing refunds to all you Anthem players.

    Maybe someone can open a lawsuit and all of those whom have proof of purchase can be entitled to a payout? They should be sued to discourage other companies from pulling this kind of behavior again.

    All I can say is that i'm very disappointed.They released a game that was basically unplayable, cause they rushed it.And now they're refusing to give people refunds, even though they're canceling it, I will never support EA again or buy another game from this they are basically stealing people's money with this anthem they should either fix it or refund

    Agreed this is what the Stop Killing Games petition is about, if the community could have it and do modded content it could have had a resurgeance. I agree there should be a class action lawsuit in the amount that everyone that bought it gets a refund.

    I come back to play this game after so long, pre ordered it, put a lot of time into it, just to lose it and never be able to play it again is crazy, i enjoyed it and i agree, give it to modders, a refund, lawsuit, something, this is BS coming from a company who cant release anything that ever works like it should in the first place, i hope this actually ruins EA, their employees can find and do better work else where, i dont plan to spend ANY more money on anything from this terrible company, enjoy losing customers
