tiger woods

hi,   ive finally pulled out the ps3 after quite a few years.  Im tryhing to set it back up, but it wont play my tiger woods. Says CAnt connect to Server.   do i still need to connect to server even if i do Not wish to play online?  i just want to play the game against my son who lives at home with me..  I dont know how to get the game going .
