Same here, even on bathurst the car wont roll down the hill it just stop dead.
Same issue here. Many others reporting it on Reddit across multiple input devices and platforms. Have changed every in game setting to no avail.
Actually just noticed this for myself too. I decelerate unnaturally fast and then come to a stop, even on inclines.
2 ptProduct: GRID Legends
Platform: PC (Steam)
Summarize your bug: Cars slow down unnaturally fast while coasting, about the same as 50% braking power.
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
In what game mode did the bug occur? All game modes
How often does the bug occur? 100%
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?- Start a time trial on a track that includes uphill and/or downhill sections
- Release both the throttle and brake while on a hill
What do you expect to see?:The car should coast and slowly decelerate. If on a hill its rate of deceleration should be properly affected by gravity. Cars should start to roll downhill if they come to a stop while going uphill, and should not stop while coasting downhill.
Actual result: Cars slow down as if I have some sort of brake input. Cars come to a complete stop on hills without any braking input.

Hello,,
I realized that my car keeps spinning out in some vehicles due to this bug which acts like a brake, i understand that if i fully depress the brakes while turning in a race car that my car may spin out. however simply just letting of the gas cause this
- @wowthicc I just realized this myself. If this is how it was designed to work, I will be looking for a refund, It is unplayable to me working like this
Yup. I wonder how this could even get through QA. The clutch does not even properly disconnect the transmission, in a racing game...
Hopefully we can get a response today.
I've already had a few friends get the game refunded because of this issue.
@AktzarYeah, I would totally do the same at this point. Unfortunately I already spent more than the allowed 2 Steam hours on trying to fix various issues with my steering wheels (None of them work completely). But I would totally recommend trying to get one at this point and just get it again when these bugs are hopefully ironed out and the game is cheaper.
Such a letdown... :<Serves me right pre-ordering a game from a big company against my better judgement though. The GRID hype in me was just too strong
Some cars, like front wheel drive, can be really hard to drive - it causes terribly under steer when the choices are only between brake and throttle and I can’t coast through any part of the turn.
Product: GRID Legends
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Cars slow down like 50-80% braking power without touching a key.
Please specify your platform model. Steam
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
In what game mode did the bug occur? Offline Career
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start any race Release both the throttle and brake while moving at speed Car brakes on its own to a stop This occurs no matter the difficulty or amount of driving assist selected.
What happens when the bug occurs? Currently the cars slow down so hard WITHOUT pressing the brake that it is throwing off the balance of the car. This is made a lot worse in FWD cars. There currently is no way to coast. Some turns just need you to stop accelerating even momentarily to get threw the corner. Instead the car brakes and totally throws the car off balance in the turn, because you weren't planning to brake. Also braking naturally makes it more difficulty to turn, which is sometimes wanted and sometimes not.
What do you expect to see? The car should coast and very slowly decelerate. If going up/down a hill its rate of deceleration should be properly affected by gravity. The car should VERY gradually slow down due to expected friction and the engine. This should feel like ~5% of the cars braking potential.
Have you guys never driven a car before? Its almost like you never made a racing game before or are absolute fresh devs! Like maybe this should be apart of the ABS driving assist, at level 4 and 5. But completely off! Stop braking my car for me damit!
