There won't be another golf game. The CEO at EA downsized his company last year, laid off some 675 workers and wrote he was cancelling/abandoning games not making enough money. It's obvious this one got the axe. There has been no update and support since April 2024, patch 12, which was just after the press release of the laid off.
EA does not want to compete with 2K, and gave away its exclusive rights for the 4 Majors. 2K has 3 of them in PGA 2K25. Even the lead designer and some devs of this game have moved to 2K to work on PGA 2K25.

My friends and I recently downloaded this but we were puzzled as to why we couldn't play crossplay.
Such a shame too, as speedster2182170 mentioned, with the sport becoming popular with more and more people
