Moving Ball Position On The Tee Box

There are a number of holes on various courses where branches make it impossible to hit your shot down the middle without hitting a branch.  There have been also situations where the wind direction makes this problem even worse.  I have had par 3's where I have hit punch shots to avoid this which is ridiculosis.  Moving your ball position on the tee box is a basic option that all golfers whether professional or amateur use so this should be added to the game, hopefully in the next update.

EA PGA Tour is supposed to be more realistic you should be able to move it from one side to the other at least. If its in the game its in the game!

@SLouis2001 This is something that is also absent from 2K23 but interestingly, it’s a feature in Everybody’s Golf! As the rules of golf stipulate, you can take any tee shot anywhere between the two tee markers and up to two club lengths behind the tee markers. This rule is regarding the actual placement of the teed up ball, so you can actually take your stance outside the tee box as long as your ball is teed within the legal tee box.

Amazing how both EA and 2K haven’t implemented a simple feature that’s in an arcade golf game! It needs to be in these games too

There are two courses I can think of. One of them is Augusta and the other is TPC Southwind. I try to set my shot where I don't get close to the trees because I had difficulty getting the ball out of the tree region in the Jordan Spieth Master's challenge. The Jordan Spieth challenge feels like golfing in Endor. The option of moving the ball position on the tee box makes perfect sense. Without that option, my created golfer probably needs to be an Ewok or the new Anaconda Species to get the ball past the branches.

  • While I'm on this boat needing this feature because it is a simple rule of golf that also would help in many holes, I'm actually just playing either fade/draws to get rid of those trees and their branches and/or using shorter irons just in case. Not sure if this could be of any help to any of you, but there it goes.

Noting that fading and drawing is difficult on tour and sim, when you are presented with tree issues off of the tee on a par 4 or 5, use the stinger..you will loose a bit of distance but it will go straight as an arrow and low.

  • This would be a good addition to the game. Others have already mentioned it helps avoid tree hitboxes immediately in front of the default tee position. I think it would also add a little bit of strategy by opening up new shot angles. There are many holes where being able to move to the side of the tee box would give new high risk/high reward shots.
