On ps5 does the vibration happen when you strike the ball and when the ball bounces?
Yes, vibration present on PS5, none on XB Series X.

No. There is vibration but not for those things. Where I've noticed vibration is deviating from the swing plane, sometimes when the ball is in the air, and on putts if >100% power is reached.

I expect it's by design. Not sure if I'd like what you're suggesting or not to be honest. Think I'd need to experience it to be sure.
You do get the sound of the ball going into the cup from the controller speaker.
