Patch 6.0 Discussion
I thought I pop back in here after a long time being away as I saw a new patch downloading on Steam. So cool, a new course. I'm wondering though, they start the patch notes with this: --- https://w...
I take it all back... the patch is useless.
The turn based appears to only be available for Matchplay... we are playing Strokeplay currently and there is NO turn order.

Oh man! I hadn’t had an opportunity to play with my buddies yet, but this is hugely disappointing. We definitely prefer stroke play over match, and we’re hoping the turn order was available for it as well.
So they put 60fps into the game after everyone asking for it (they moaned) they update the game almost every month with free courses and patches (they moan) they bring in new game modes (pro pass) so now playing you can actually unlock things so if maxed your character out you have something to play for (which people moaned about), online turn based 1v1 added, everyone asked for and moaning.....i could go on

This is one opinion... and you are entitled to it.
Speaking for myself I believe that people are allowed to be disappointed, they are allowed their point of view as well.
Not that EA owes us anything, but I don't think it is unreasonable for people to expect at a minimum that a game released 8 years after their last release would contain the same features.
60 fps is standard for games of this generation so not having it included was unexpected. I was not one of those clamoring for it because I didn't believe it was that impactful in a golf game.
The additional courses were promised from the beginning so it's not like it is an addon.
No one asked for the Pro Pass, and in my opinion it really doesn't add anything to the gaming experience.
You are correct that a lot of people requested turn based play... no one expected it to be limited to Matchplay only.
The game shipped with a myriad of bugs... and lacking a complete multiplayer experience.
If you compare the features of Tiger Woods 2014 or Rory McIlroy 2015 vs EA PGA 23... it just does not measure up.
I like the feel of the game... it is relatively polished but lacks any substance.
It may take more than a year for the game to be where it should have been on the release date. I don't think anyone feels this is a finished product. EA is limping along patching things, but there is an exodus of players in the meantime and that is concerning.
I think we are all disappointed... and expected more from an AAA Developer for a AAA title.
@ELF014 I respect your opinion and everyone else's (that actually make sense). Firstly i did not say the courses was an add on, (bear in mind there is already 30+ odd courses in the game) i stated they update the game 'almost monthly' with patches and a free course and yes no one asked for pro pass but to me that's a nice feature (something i did not expect) and like i say if you have maxed out your character you now have something to aim for to unlock rewards and grind for. I too grew up on all the ea golf games including Tiger and Rory.
I am not saying the game is perfect, i play on Xbox and the challenges STILL do not unlock despite completing them, the quest for doing Augusta at 9 under also does not unlock dispite me getting 11 under - the online play still is not perfect but its heading in the right direction so i look forward to updates in the future to make this the ultimate golf game (which it is not far from already IMO).
👍

You hit the nail in the coffin. I am happy that someone has the courage to say this. I liked the game when it first came out at launch. I was even OK with the first two updates since there not many requests. One of the biggest moaning was from a Bug Report to implement lip outs and putt breaks to make game more challenging. I ignored the report from that poster since I felt at the time the change was unlikely. After Update 3.0, that request became a reality. Since I didn’t ask for that request, I was actually livid when it came out and I also began to notice issues with the ball physics as well. That bug report has left Dodge and is nowhere to be found. Since then, I have become more active and vocal in post involving ball physics; when someone requests to add more difficulty, I will tell poster to make sure it is an option I can turn off. As each update releases, I have become more scared of the ball physics getting worse. The game now has more issues with ball physics since it released; I can tell there is a trade off between requests like the 60fps and ball physics. For me, fixing the ball physics remains the top priority. I liked Tiger Woods PGA Tour because of the smooth gameplay, ball physics and game face. I put my request for game face for a sequel since I want to give EA more time to implement that. I would be afraid how photo gameface might be if it is requested for next update; there is a possibility Ana De Armas would look like Nebula if gameface implementation is rushed.
I have spent so much time criticizing the ball physics. However, I want to give credit where credit is due. I am so glad EA has implemented the one round tournament in career mode. I want to thank EA for that. I do not need to play all four rounds and I do not need to worry about my created golfer having assured impairment when she plays in quick round. Most importantly, the one round tournament ensures I Get Outta Wolf Creek. Imaging making a rap called "Get Outta Wolf Creek" which sounds like "Straight Outta Compton".

I hear you. I had one online friend refuse to play. Another bought the game and played literally a handful of rounds and went back to 2K... realizing this was a watered down version of a golfing experience.
He still reaches out to me occasionally to ask if things have improved... and I truthfully tell him while the game has some positive points the golf still isn't one of them.
However... we do find the ready golf aspect does allow you to finish a round in less than half the time. And you can sort of impose your own turn order. We just don't get to see you swing the club in most instances. We have tried turning our characters to face the next player who has honors but it is a painful experience which is not always successful.
But I am in your camp.... even if they provided us a target lock on the player who had honors with a zoom feature... like what is available after you putted out on the green. That would work for me. We could impose our own turn based play.
And don’t forget even the match play turn order is only 2 players. Such a disappointment
