PGA Tour - Crashing on PC
Product: EA SPORTS PGA TOUR Platform:PC Summarize your bug When it loads, it shows the beginning of the game and automatically selects the next screen then crashes, back to EA platform. How often...
try playing in window mode. and also disable advanced hair under the visual settings (its all the way towards the bottum). It has fixed my issue and i was crashing 100% every hole since monday untill i made only those two changes. (Also iv heard because the game is poorly optimized, if your maxing out your PC playing the game, as in your ram or GPU is running near 100%, one hic-cup will make you crash.)
Hey Kapill89,
My computer was crashing as well. As I mentioned in a previous post, I dropped the FPS to 30 from 60, and it seemed to give me another hole or two before it crashed. I did however take your advice, and disabled the advanced hair. Left it at full screen though and make it almost through 18 holes before it crashed. So I then switched it to windowed mode, but still left the hair disabled and the frames at 30. Hasn't crashed again since, but I only played another 4 holes before I quit. So we will see how this works this morning. Maybe this will be the fix. With the computer I have though, I shouldn't have to play with the settings, to get the friggin game to work. There seems to be a lot of issues with this game. Hopefully, they get some patches out soon to fix this stuff, as this game has so much potential, to be the best golf game ever, if they put the work into it.
Let me know if you are still able to play with the changes you have made.
Thanks, Glenn
Constant crashing getting worse all the time. Crashing on loading screens, crashing mid-shot on my shot, crashing mid-shot on cpu players shot.
Tried several visual setting tweaks turning things down, I shouldn't have to given my system specs. Nothing has worked.
My system specs:
Windows 11 Home 64-bit
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900KS (24 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
32768MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti VRAM 24327MB
Display Mode: 3840 x 2160 (32 bit) (144Hz)
Have applied for a refund through Steam. My many years experience playing games on pc (and consoles) has told me that when this stuff is happening on launch don't go down the rabbit hole of checking your pc, your internet connection or the weather outside. If support ask you to post a photo of the length of the grass in your garden, don't do it. Constant crashing only on this game while all others work fine means there is no problem with your pc, you've been sold a product that is not working as it should be when you purchased it.
Hey bud, It will work if put on windowed mode and disabling the cool hair on your guy . Going to have to find a hat for him now. lol Have no crashing issues since those changes were made, but WTH wants to play on windowed mode. Things up close don't look too bad, but anything else in the background looks like hell. The two main reasons I went with this game rather then the 2K game, is the more realistic ball physics and the next gen graphics. I watched some 2K Golf footage on YouTube. Don't like the way the ball moves at all. The ball actually behaves like a real golf ball in the EA game. And the game looks much more visually appealing. Which is the reason I bought this game. I wanted to see these beautiful golf courses in all their glory. Not play in windowed mode.
Anyway, when I play again tomorrow, I'm going to put it back on full screen, but drop any video settings that are set on ultra to medium. Hopefully that works. Then maybe when they have patched this thing, I'll try to turn a few of them up. Med settings on full screen will still look pretty good seeing as the graphics are next gen. And It will look a heck of a lot better then on windowed mode.
I'll let everybody know how it goes.
Glenn
Put the graphics settings on Ultra pre-set. Hasn't crashed since but challenges are not working now.
