Putting Still Needs More Work In 4.0 Update

  1. Not sure if this was hot-fixed prior to the actual update, but lip-outs are way less. Getting a lot more lip-ins which are ok.
  2. Roll-overs seems exponentially less as well. Very few manhole covers in my recent experience.
  3. Putt-previews seemed more centered than before, but I think I was mistaken…there needs a lot of adjustment. Seeing a lot of far side putts when there is no reason for it bead wise and only getting 3 centered previews on an 18.
  4. A lot of putts within 4 feet are exceptionally curved and difficult. What’s the point of getting the ball close if you have to make the putt of your life at ~4 feet???
  5. The crowd doesn’t insta-boo when you hit the ball on a missed putt either, another bug report I made. That is an improvement.
  6. Some centered putts blow by the hole when hit appropriately.
  7. Why is perfect/perfect inherently broken? All putts have to be over-hit or you’re missing, kind of lame to be fair.

    @RodSirloin I agree that the putting has improved since update 4.0. Another improvement is the sideways putting occurrences are rare. After Update 3.0, my golfer is making too many sideways putts like she is playing billiards. I am pleased that update 4.0 fixed that one. The only place that it still occurs is at the 17th hole of TPC Scottsdale. In addition, making longer putts have improved.

    @PalomaMarvel24 It’s good to hear reasonable and honest feedback…thank you for that. Also, being a dev is a loveless job so it’s extremely important to let them know when they did a good job.

    There are some courses where putting a is still hell, like some of these super curved 4 footers that you miss more than you make, but at least they’re willing and ready to make changes we want to see.

    @RodSirloin Not sure what game you guys are playing but there are still multiple instances where the ball goes over the hole and doesn’t lip correctly

    You must be playing a different update to everyone else

    Plus there was ZERO mention of this being fixed in the patch notes

    Putting is exactly the same as update 3.0 and there has been ZERO change

    I've only had one instance in 275 hrs of gameplay where the ball lipped out strangely with its animation. 

    My only issue now really is the clipping/glitching animation where the ball is going through the putter head at address. Happens at address too with irons every so often

    I think I need to start getting some clips together again for the horrendous state the putting is in

    @agentputt putting is far worse now, ive seen putts head towards the hole then all off a sudden break the opposite way and miss, its like a putt boss out there saying nope, you arent making this, and its often i see this, at least 3-4 times a round

    Let me reiterate my point 

    The issue is more to do with the CUP rather than putting itself 

    The issue where putts go in a different direction to the beads has NOTHING to do with this issue

    The issue is that in certain circumstances even when you hit the correct pace, the putt still lips out

    This should not happen. 

    I will get some clips for reference in due course

    I'm not aware of any changes in the putting. Though things do feel a bit different in the last little while. But I am still receiving way too many putts that interact with the edge of the cup. So much so that it feels really unrealistic.
