Re: Will EA Sports PGA TOUR feature crossplay?

I have a friend on Playstation and I have Xbox. Is the online gaming cross platform yet so we can play against each other yet or is that still in the works?

Alas, no.

EA need to get cross platform going asap just as they have with other titles of theirs. If they don't, the PC side of this game will die in months.

I wish they would at least put out a statement of intention with regard to cross-play.

We are always trying to bring you the best golf game on the market with EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, which we know includes a variety of features like crossplay.

At launch, crossplay will not be a feature that appears in-game, but we are constantly evaluating the possibility of this feature appearing post-launch.

There are a variety of ways you’ll be able to play with your friends in online modes throughout the game.

Cross-Platform progression is available for your created golfer so you can save your gear, outfits, and achievements to access your created golfer across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Seriously a canned auto-reply? If the programmers can't figure out how to implement cross-play when it's in other EA titles, just say so.

If and when you get cross platform playing I'm sure you will get monthly subscription fee to go along with it.

    This is not a response.

Crossplay is a necessity if you are releasing across multiple platforms. Do we need to ask Santa or should you just implement cross-play without further thought ?

Then just play 2K23... some of the top devs working on this game defected to 2K, including the Senior Game Designer. Maybe there's only a handful of devs working on this game by now, and they seem to be breaking more things then they're fixing. Career mode mini-leaderboard is now broken, and I tried to play a few sponsors challenges yesterday and the game froze every time.  And you think these guys are going to be able to implement cross-play? Just feel fortunate guys at HB and 2K were able to figure it out. That's the nice thing about having 2 golf games.

I fully understand why people want crossplay... but I have always believed there are some inherent issues with it.

I think crossplay is great for groups of friends that want to enjoy a game together... but in a competitive environment there are other factors in play.

Inherently because of the different hardware the playing field is not equal across all platforms. Which is why I don't think this is the answer.

The issue is that there are not enough people wanting to play the game in each of the seperate ecosystems.

In my opinion... EA needs to reevaluate the product they have released and evolve it into something people want to play.

Building a new golf franchise will get people to come out and look. It is obvious there was a shortage of content... but there is nothing here to get people to stay.

I will be the first to admit that 2K is not perfect... that it has it's share of bugs etc. 2K has been dragging their feet to address issues and evolve the game, might I even say it has become a bit stale?

EA had a prime opportunity to steal marketshare and a community looking for something fresh to sink their teeth into. But they dropped the ball, and people went back to the better of two mediocre options.

I'm still hoping there is someone out there that can build something better. There is so little content as far as golf games... and a community straving. If you build it they will come, EA has proven that. And if you build it well... they will stay... HB Studio's proved that for years.
