Why is the collective hoarding gems?

I love my sparkly gems so much...but I love IP seeds more so.. I don't mind spending them 😛

The shadow peashooters on c3 will each drag 3 zombies down before needing replacing and it's poison laser beam will slow and damage everything.
The moonflowers (i start with 5) provide me with enough sun to build up two columns of pokras.

Oh well, I finally got her in my Zengarden. Just had to play Pirate Seas Day 22 a bunch of times to collect sprouts.
