I experienced the same issue. The Troglobites in Level 9 also failed to count.
It’s crazy that this has been an issue since they revamped the special events. I wish they would just go back to the previous format. The rewards weren’t as good, but between these missions and having to use the same 6 plants to earn decent points, it is aggravating.
