Yes 5 more minutes (probably 3 or 4 more tries) then I would have stopped and declared it dose not work.
I did the same tapping as the last 25 or 26 times, this time I must have been lucky and tapped at the right time. I think sometimes the system takes a fraction of a second to process and bring up the blue arrow and if a plant selection command (over to the Sunflower) is managed to get through during this period, then it no longer allow the player to level up as there is not enough seeds to get the sunflower to level up to level 2, and the forced level up training is being counted as done.
@HenryThePear someone on reddit says that they have no costumes as well, but they have the updated store.

There's been some changes to how the costume listings work (as I discovered this morning). Instead of being scheduled day by day like previous, they're instead now being pulled randomly from an existing pool each day. So there's a good chance you'll see it again but it's a bit RNG. I've been told that it would seem pretty unlikely for the pool to be reset mid-way with the 100% release.
I like it 🙂 No more day by day schedule. This also means there is no point in trying to figure out what the new costume cycle looks like but I think we should figure out which costumes are in the pool - so feel free to post the daily costumes as soon as the new update is live 👿

@MAGICDAVESHROOM Do you see a second costume in the store today? We need to find out which costumes are in the pool. The difficulty is that we now have to own the plant, so we can't just use and used profile to check the store ☹️
@PowerToss. In my updated store i have no costumes at all.
In my old store yesterday was as follows and I'll add todays when they come out in half an hour.

You don't own Snow Pea, right? So that would explain why you don't see it. It won't be easy to keep track of the daily costumes in the new store.
@PowerToss i don't own snow pea or kiwibeast but i have their costumes in my mastery profile and they show up on the store.

...in the old store 😛That's exactly the difference between the new store (8.4.2) and the old store (8.3)
In the old store you got to see and buy all costumes. It didn't matter if you have the plant or not.
In the new store you have to own the plant to see the costumes. The costumes also don't follow any costume cycle anymore. They're instead being pulled randomly from an existing pool each day.
@PowerToss In the new store i can't see any costumes in any profile at all, as you say it's going to be hard keeping track of what costumes are released on a daily basis. They don't show up in an empty profile or in their entry.
I also noticed that the option to skip forced ads no longer works so i have to sit through them.
@MAGICDAVESHROOM I have some profiles that have all World Plants and some Premium plants but only very few costumes. The only costumes I won't currently see on any of my profile (since I don't have the plant or already got the costume) are:
Gold Bloom, Cold Snapdragon, Grapeshot, Caulipower, Wasabi Whip, Cactus, Holly Barrier, Witch Hazel, Solar Tomato, Sweet Potato and Electric Currant.
I think you can cover: Gold Bloom, Cold Snapdragon, Grapeshot, Caulipower, Wasabi Whip, Cactus, and Witch Hazel. So we just won't get to see when a costume for Holly Barrier, Sweet Potato or Electric Currant is in the store
@PowerToss I have a couple of totally unused profiles which i was using to keep an eye on the costumes but in this new store nothing shows up, which is stupid.
@MAGICDAVESHROOM Time to complete adventure mode on one of those unused profiles 👿 Then you will at least get to see the costumes for World plants in the store.
