Does anyone understand the math with ads?
I've played PvZ2 for a while, and I'm very confused about why some ads play, some don't.
Things I know:
Game resources have a limited amount of ads that you can watch per day. Penny Fuel has two ads, Gems have 3 (I'm excluding special offers), Gauntlets have 4 or 5 per day.
Normally, when the daily max for Penny Fuel or gauntlets has not yet been reached and an ad loads, the icon appears (Penny) or the icon is highlighted in the arena menu (gauntlets). Once hte daily max has been reached, neither of those things happen (no icon; icon stays gray).
The icons for gems and coins always appear because you can choose an "offer" instead of an ad, but the ad button will display a notice once you've reached the daily max.
Now for my confusion:
The button for Penny Fuel will appear because I have not yet watched those 2 ads for the day. I click on the button, and nothing happens. But the icon has appeared, meaning that an ad has loaded and I should be able to watch one for the reward, right? Well, despite that nothing happens with the Penny Fuel ad, I then decide to click on coins, and there the ad loads perfectly fine. I then reclick on the Penny Fuel, or the gauntlets: nothing. I then click again on coins, and there's an ad.
My theory is that there is some sort of special time limit for ads for Fuel, gauntlets or seed packets (from the shop), such as you can only watch a certain amount within (for example) a 12 hour period, which would explain why the buttons appear, but yet the ads won't play. Can anybody help clarifiy that? Am I speculating correctly and does anyone know the specifics?
