I am trying to play a level of Big Wave Beach. it gets to a point in the game where the snorkel zombies just sit in the water and neither the kelp or guacodile plants will do anything. Therefore you can't complete the level. This began after the most recent update, and it sucks.
Other levels seem to freeze for a moment. You need to take a look at what you did the code, but something is not right.

Had you already tried the Power Ups - Power Snow, Power Toss, or Power Zap? Unless you had some of them saved up it would cost coins to use them, but they may well have done the job.
Also, do you have the Homing Thistle? As that will target Snorkle Zombies.
I think similar bug has been noted by an EA rep on the reddit site.
