As far as i know if you keep on winning or paying the "gem tax" 10,20,30 etc until it is capped at 250, your streak keeps on advancing until it reaches 98 and the next 98 are doubled the stated value, the next 98 are tripled, then the next 98 quadrupled and so on until the maximum of x10 is reached where it stays. It obviously costs a lot of gems (3000ish) to reach the 250 cap. I'm not 100% sure the figures are right but basically the longer your streak gets, the greater your rewards in coins, seed packets and gauntlets etc...
I think i read a post where someone got a 60 seed packet for shadow peashooter and with his x10 multiplyer it became 600.

Most of what was said above is spot on.
The only mistake concerns the final line. The seed packets for the Shadow Peashooter in Battlez (before EA/Popcap withdrew them) came in the dedicated Modern Day Pinatas.
The amount of seeds received by each of the plants covered by those Pinatas were random, but as the Shadow Peashooter was Plant Of The Week there was a bias towards it.
As an example, based on a player in the Jade league, if they had a streak that entitled them to the x10 multiplier and they won a match that advanced them to a Modern Day Pinata that was marked as "x10", they would get ten times the value marked. In other words they would get 100 Pinatas. Each Pinata contains 10 seed packets, so they would get 1000 seeds packets divided between the standard Modern Day plants and the Shadow Peashooter. If that 1000 was divided equally, each plant would get 166 seed packets. However, as I said earlier, there is a built in bias towards the Plant Of The Week. This could well result in that one plant receiving as much as the 600 seed packets mentioned by MAGICDAVESHROOM.
To hopefully make it clearer. Once you reach a long enough streak to benefit from the multipliers, the displayed value of rewards is multiplied.
Between consecutive wins from 1 to 98, there is no multiplier. Therefore, if a Pinata is designated as x2, you get 2 Pinatas. (20 seed packets.)
Between consecutive wins from 99 to 196, a times two multiplier comes into effect. This means a Pinata designated as x2 would give you 4 Pinatas. (40 seed packets.)
This continues up through each step of 98 consecutive wins, increasing by one each time until you reach the maximum multiplier of times ten. Once you get there, a Pinata marked as x2 will give you 20 Pinatas (200 seed packets.)
The same applies to Coin Rewards, Mint Rewards, and Gauntlets. 1,000 coins becomes 10,000. 10 Mints becomes 100. 2 Guantlets becomes 20.
Once a streak gets that long, you can upgrade your plants more frequently. As you upgrade your plants, wins become more frequent, as do the rewards and the frequency in which plants can be upgraded increases proportionately. By then you get to the point where you will often win more Gauntlets than you use.
If you claim your daily free gauntlets and then use 3 free plays each day (A total of 7) after two days you will have played, and hopefully won, 14 matches. As the gauntlets rewards come around every 14 wins, and assuming you've won all of the matches played, those 20 gauntlets increase your reserve and allows you to play a lot of matches that are in effect 'Free plays'.
In that way a player can easily notch up 500, 600, 700, 800 or even 1000 crowns in a week without having to part with any gems, or cash to purchase more gems.
If a player decides to go down the road of retaining their streak if/when they lose a match, the first loss will cost them 10 gems to retain their streak. The next loss would cost them 20 gems. The third, 30 gems. The cost of retaining the streak continues upwards in increments of 10 until it reaches the maximum level of 250 gems for each retention.
This can sound rather expensive, but if retaining your streak results in you progressing a further 5 to 10, or more wins, the rewards you earn in those additional matches can far outweigh any seeds you would get through purchasing world plant seed packets from the shop for 100 gems.
In Jade League, you get 260 seed packets for 100 gems. You would get 520 for 200 gems. Compare this to getting perhaps 35,000 coins, 150 Mints, and 1,500 seed packets from maintaining your Battlez streak at a cost of 250 gems. The 1,500 seeds packets on their own would cost almost 600 gems.
