Missing currency after returning to PvZ2

I’d been playing PvZ for a while. I’d grinded every map in the campaign and some extra challenges, feeling proud of my accumulated wealth. However, upon returning, I was shocked to find I’ve lost all my progress except for my plants, seed packs and completed maps.

Is there a way to retrieve my stuff or is the loss permanent?
