  • @Humplemann   I don't know if its necessarily the timing or just pure luck as I too sometimes have my stallia crushed by the Barrel Roller Zombies or blown up by the emerging Torchlight Zombies before cold snapdragon has the chance to extinguish it. I try to place them specifically in the path of either the parasol zombies, the Glitter zombie, or the mummified gargantuar in order for it to knock them back as well as consistently spam my blover repeatedly every 3-4 seconds. Fortunately whenever the stallia fails, I have my trusty Chard Guards in place in the next tile to the left (column 8) to back me up and keep the zombies knocked back within the first two tiles for maximum points.

    2,675,500 is a very impressive score. I look forward to achieving higher scores whenever I can level up my plants more ツ

    @Humplemann   2.6 mil with all free plants is a highest one I heard.

    I could only manage to get 2 mil with my mid level plants 😞

  • My latest high score for this week (2,424,500) and probably my best. Another imitator use opponent

    My best so far this week

    Sadly for me, it was followed immediately afterwards by a score of only 1.2 million and I lost by around 300,000. My excuse for that was that I had an entire column of the fast torch carrying zombies come out all together about a minute into the match and they burned all but one of my Chard Guards before my Cold Snapdragons put out the torches! After that I was constantly trying to play catch up and failed.

    I HATE any torch zombies at the best of times, but the fast moving ones are a nightmare!

    WOW  2.7 Mil !  Now this is what I call a true great achievement with just using free plants in Battlez.

    I thought dusk lobber at level 5 or above should be more than capable to take out the torch zombies, just out of interest, how many dusk lobbers have you planted?

    @eieio_31310

    I start the matches with 2 Dusk Lobbers, 6 Moonflowers, and 4 Chard Guards. I then use all my Plant Food to get Sun from the Moonflowers that are boosted by having other Dusk plants next to them.

    I then put out one Cold Snapdragon to slow down the first Gargantuar and then blow it away when it reaches a Chard Guard. (If I time it right)

    After that I plant one more Chard Guard, 4 more Cold Snapdragons, and 10 more Moonflowers as and when I can, and progressively plant Dusk Lobbers. Once all the free squares have been filled, I progressively dig up the Moonflowers and replace them with Dusk Lobbers until I have 8 Moonflowers left. (All the time planting the Blover as fast as I can and using the Stallia when it becomes available.)

    This means my reply to your question is - I don't really know for sure at any one point in the matches.

    At a guess I would say I may have had 9 or 10 Dusk Lobbers and 5 Cold Snapdragons in place at the time when my Chard Guards were wiped out, but those fast Torch Zombies can still get to my Chard Guards even when I have a full complement of Lobbers. It all depends on the timing of the Dusk Lobbers and Cold Snapdragons firing. Sometimes the Zombies have their torches extinguished and/or get wiped out. Other times they sneak through.

    I've been using the excuse of only "playing with free plants" since Battlz started and now you've ruined it for me!

    All kidding aside, I can just about make it to a million this week. I have tried out the latest plant but I'm hoping that some Reinforce-mints will help me next week.

    (I know it was terrible and I promise I'll only use that joke once).

    @Humplemann   Thank you for the reply.

    So from your experience, it seems to suggest the score depends on which set of random zombies are set to come to the Battlez party.  I have noticed recently (this week and the last) I have been given some very easy ones and some very difficult ones.  So I often find myself winning with around 200k and losing at over 600k score.

    @EA_Roger   welcome to the million score points club, I too only manage to get to 1 mil with mid & low level plants this week, to get over 2 mil, I guess one would need to have above average plants at level 6 and above.

    @eieio_31310

    I agree that the differing Zombie load outs do have a major effect on our scores.

    If I get one of the 'easier' Zombie hoards I score well. (2 million plus). If I get one of the more aggressive hoards, scoring becomes more difficult. (1,6 to 1.9 million). If I get one of the 'next to impossible' hoards with fast Torch Zombies coming out mob-handed, I will really struggle. (1.2 to 1.5 million).

    When my Chard Guards keep getting wiped out, and I have to rely solely on the Dusk Lobbers and the occasional Stallia, the matches can become major battlez.

    @EA_Roger

    Sorry about that - but less so after that joke. 👿

    Congrats on breaking the million barrier. Maybe no longer being able to hide behind your 'Free plants only' defense did some good.
