Patch error

August 6 2024

the plants v zombies app has updated but comes up with the sign ‘patching failed’ ‘error applying content (7)’

I’ve tried switching my iPad off and back on, the same thing happens. I don’t want to delete the app in cases I can’t get all my items back. Any ideas?

    Hi @A1B8553C , try force closing the app and restarting your device again.

    If you are playing on iOS you should be able to look your player ID in the device settings (Settings > Plants vs Zombies 2 > Player info).

    You can also try turning your phone to airplane mode and try to launch the app to see if you can at least access your player ID.

    This way, you can note it down somewhere and you can now try to reinstall the app. If you lose any progress, our EA help will be able to restore your account as long as you have written down your player ID.

  • Whenever I try to load the game, the game stops after downloading progress and comes up with “patching failed ,Error applying content(7) when it is applying patch. After many attempts, I ended up deleting the game and adding the game back. Also, looks to be considerable new content being added and this could possible be one of the issue when the downloading progress just sits at 100% and doesn't seem to finish for extended period of time.

    I'm also tagging you again @A1B8553C because in the meantime we got more information, this is a generalised issue so we'll need to wait for a fix!

    Well, I keep getting the downloading progress at 100% and forced closed the app and restarted. Game finally downloaded and finished successfully. Good luck to all!

  • Mine is now working. I just left it alone for a couple of hours and everything was then ok.

  • @EA_Cath I tried to reinstall the game without success reloading my game. I have my player ID, have logged in issue with EA but unlike before no response from EA whatsoever.
